New term of prenatal yoga (Canberra prenatal yoga) starting in only 4 days
I'm really looking forward to the new term of prenatal yoga (Canberra Prenatal Yoga) starting in only a few days. This term we have a new class on Wednesday evenings in Hughes as well as the Saturday morning in Weston class.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
If you've just found this page and want to start, do get in touch and find out if there are any spaces during the term. There are always a few spots that come up as women have their babies during the term.Rebecca
The gift of stillness
Just as a stone falling into a still pond makes the water ripple, what we do, say and even think has an effect around us. Your baby inside you is linked to you by the strongest physical and emotional bonds possible, and how you are, how you choose to be, affects your baby. How do you want your baby to feel? Stress, distress, upheaval - is all a part of life. But there is also a lot you can do to reduce negative emotion, stress and other negative influences on your baby.
Perhaps the greatest gift you can ever offer your baby is the gift of your stillness. In pregnancy there is a natural drawing inward, as the mother-to-be finds less interest in the outer world and is more drawn to contemplation and meditation.
Today, see if you can find 5 minutes to do nothing at all and find some inner stillness. Turn off the phone, sit or lie quietly, let your breath settle into deep yogic breathing. Become aware of stillness anywhere in your body. Any part of your body might be still and resting, simply take notice and move on to another part. You may after practice find there is quite a lot of stillness within you. Bring your awareness to the stillness within your heart, and offer this stillness to your baby.
There are many ways and paths to finding more stillness both 'on the mat' and in your everyday life. Yes, it's even possible if you already have a toddler, though that challenge deserves a blog of its own!
Namaste
